NGO COMMUNICATIONS

Communications and Storytelling

Human and nature stories inform the content I produce for non-government and community organisations. These stories document challenging realities, messages of hope and examples of solutions.

Australian Conservation Foundation – Flight of the Bogong moth

There’s a beautiful synergy between the Bogong moth and the Mountain pygmy possum, showing how the lives of our wildlife can intertwine in ways that amaze us.

Australian Conservation Foundation – 7 stories of resilience and connection

We can learn a lot about resilience from communities impacted by the summer bushfires. I collected a series of stories during a field visit to the South Coast in NSW.

Australian Conservation Foundation – Climate stories

In the lead up to the 2019 Federal Election, ACF ran a national #ClimateElection campaign that reached more than 8 million people. I commissioned and produced story content for ACF’s digital channels.

Our health, our way

Healing circles are helping men, women and children create new opportunities, improve health and deal with past trauma, as discovered during a visit to Western Australia.

Australian Conservation Foundation – Calling for solutions to climate change

Thousands of everyday Australians are calling for climate solutions to be a top priority. A collection of mighty voices from across the country for the Together We Can campaign.

Australian Conservation Foundation –
Our common ground

As new shoots emerge from burnt bushland, a diverse range of ordinary people and community leaders are connecting, coming together and finding common ground.

Save the Children –
#16 days of activism

Safe refuges are critical for women and children fleeing family violence. I produced the multimedia content for stories shared on Twitter during #16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in 2018.

Oxfam –
Facing the future

Communities in Sri Lanka are building resilience to disasters and the impacts of climate change. From village mapping to evacuation drills, they involve everyone in the solutions.

Australian Conservation Foundation – Plight of the platypus

Habitat destruction and climate change are taking a toll on one of our most iconic animals. I spoke to platypus experts and lovers to learn why they are in decline.

Australian Conservation Foundation – Caring for Olkola Country

Around a crackling campfire on Cape York, Olkola man and Traditional Owner Mike Ross told a story of hope. It was a long story, about the return of this country to the Olkola people.

Save the Children –
Perilous journeys

For children who flee conflict, the road to safety is often more complex than landing in a refugee camp. Bullets, bombs and atrocities are just the beginning of a long and dangerous journey.

Oxfam –
Growing hope against hunger

Women farmers in Sri Lanka face debt, floods, drought, lack of land, high food prices and discrimination. I met inspiring women who are making powerful changes in their lives.
